Help name Hibbing’s new K-9

A new electronic detection K-9 is coming to Hibbing. The police department said the K-9 is a two-year-old female black Labrador Retriever and is currently housed with Jordan Detection K-9 in Greenfield, Indiana.

They were able to obtain the K-9 through grant assistance from Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.)

Handler Officer Brittany Dillinger will be attending training at Jordan Detection K-9 and the dog will be put into service in our region in late March.

The agency says they are looking for the community’s help in naming the new K-9.

If you have a name suggestion, please email Officer Brittany Dillinger at bdillinger@ci.hibbing.mn.us.

Send in your nominations until February 6th, and then the department will announce the name on February 7th.

The individual’s nomination we select will get a meet and greet with the K9 and Officer Dillinger. They will also get the opportunity to do a ride along with the K-9 and Officer Dillinger.
