Hard Hats Happy Hour celebrating women in construction

Tuesday was International Women’s Day. Wednesday was spent celebrating women in construction in the Northland.

At Bent Paddle was the Hard Hat Happy Hour, in partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NAWIC currently has a chapter of 33 members, but are hoping to expand and are inviting more women in construction to join.

"11% of the women right now make up in construction. So we want to increase that percentage and we want to get more women in construction and just know about the great jobs whether it’s in the trade or in the office," shared Susi Hedenberg, President of the Twin Ports Iron Range Chapter of NAWIC.
