Grand Rapids falls in Class AAA semifinals, Duluth Marshall wins AA consolation crown

In a back-and-forth battle Grand Rapids baseball would suffer a Class AAA semifinal loss Wednesday to Benilde-St. Margaret’s 10-8 in Chaska. The Thunderhawks would finish the state tournament in fourth place after falling to Alexandria 13-3 in the third place match. Rapids closes out the season 17-8.

In Class AA Duluth Marshall would claim the consolation crown defeating Wadena-Deer Creek 5-4 in St. Cloud after earning an 8-4 win over Watertown-Mayer to open the consolation bracket. The Hilltoppers finish the season 19-6.

In the Class A consolation bracket South Ridge would fall in the first round to New Ulm Cathedral 8-4. The Panthers finish the season 17-9.
