Gophers Faber, excited for a chance to play on the Wild

The Minnesota Wilds recent trade with the L.A. Kings sent over Kevin Fiala, but brought in Minnesota Gopher defenseman, Brock Faber.

Faber is a Maple Grove Minnesota native, and is currently a Junior captain of the Gophers. Faber claimed that having a chance to play for the home town team is a true honor.

"Crazy day obviously, but it was a special one that I will remember for the rest of my life. Ever since I started playing hockey, growing up in Minnesota it’s always the Gophers and the Wild that are the two teams you want to play for someday. Playing for the Gophers right now and then having the possibility to play for the Wild in the future, hasn’t quite sunk in yet," said Faber.

Last season with the Gophers the defenseman tallied 14 points, 37 blocks, and a plus-8 rating.
