Voyageurs Area Council held a fundraiser Thursday evening at Earth Rider Brewery in Superior.

The fundraiser featured food, drinks, and live music all in support of the Boy Scouts.

Eric Neff, Board President of the Voyageurs Area Council, said that several area businesses also contributed more than $4,000 worth of donations to be raffled as well.

“What’s nice is that people recognize the value of what the Boy Scouts and the training does, particularly now that we’re coed and girls and boys of all ages can be part of the full program,” said Neff. “It’s exciting because you’ve got the full family effect and they recognize that family can be part of scouting. Mom and Dad can both be leaders. The kids can all be part of the program. You know, they can go camping, but they can also learn all the valuable skills, leadership and things of that sort that people get from the scouting experience.”
