On Tuesday former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey goaltender Hunter Shepard was re-assigned to the NHL’s Washington Capitals taxi squad.

The Cohasset, Minnesota native signed an American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Hershey Bears in June, 2020.

After a four-year career with the Bulldogs, Shepard ranks first all-time in UMD men’s hockey history for wins, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts.

The goalie has posted a record of 3-1 so far this season with the Bears.
