The Milwaukee County Zoo has new otter pups, the first surviving litter for the zoo.

The one female and three male pups were born to mom, Shamrock, and dad, Malarkey, or Larkey, on February 7.

The zoo says Shamrock is extremely attentive and stays with the pups constantly in an off-exhibit holding area.

Zookeepers have been careful to keep a consistent routine for Shamrock, so there is no distress. The zoo says the pups appear to be healthy and developing well.

The pups will remain off-exhibit for the next few months. They do not have names yet.
