Fatal motorcycle accident in Superior

One person is dead following a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a commercial cargo truck in Superior on Thursday. According to the Superior Police Department, officers were called to report of an accident at the intersection of Ogden Ave. and Broadway Street at approximately 3:06 p.m.

When police arrived they found the driver of the motorcycle, a 58-year-old male from Polk County, Wisconsin dead at the scene. A 15-year-old passenger on the motorcycle, also of Polk County, WI, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

According to authorities, the 32-year-old driver of the commercial cargo box truck was cited for Fail-to-Yield Right-of-Way.

The Mayo Clinic Ambulance, the Superior Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol also responded.

The accident remains under investigation.
