With so many evacuations happening near the Greenwood Fire, some may be wondering about animals that have gotten lost or displaced.

"We could take anything from goldfish to you know, herds of cattle."

A local group of veterinary-rescue professionals have created a Facebook page, called "Greenwood Fire Displaced Animals."

"We’re here if you need us, but we really hope you don’t," said Lisa Lepak, one of the co-founders of the group, Northern Minnesota Animal Rescue Team. "Because if we’re not needed, then everybody’s getting to keep their animals. Everybody’s safe, houses are find. You know, there’s not a lot of destruction."

MNART has their contact information listed on their Facebook page, should anyone need their services to house or foster their animals.

"The response has been amazing," shared Lepak. "The number of large animal people who have messaged me for, you know — we’ve got trailers, we’ve got padlocks, we’ve got some hay. All this stuff has been phenomnial."

The group says their goal is to help, until they’re no longer needed.
