Duluth East boys hold off Moorhead to advance to Class AAA semifinals

The Duluth East boy’s soccer team held off Moorhead Wednesday in Irondale winning 3-1 to advance to the Class AAA state semifinals.

Kai Hoffman scored the lone goal of the first half giving the Greyhounds the upper hand at halftime. In the second, William Smith made it 2-0 before Moorhead quickly scored to climb back within one. On an empty netter Jackson Descombaz scored the game-winner.

Second seeded Duluth East will face Rosemount in the semifinals Wednesday, November 3 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 10am. For the full Class AAA bracket, click here.
