Duluth Council approves American Rescue Plan funding

The Duluth City Council has decided how to spend nearly $60 million from the "American Rescue Plan."

The majority of the funding will go towards affordable housing and pandemic driven services with over $19 million.

$12 million will be used for investments in public works and utilities, including lead remediation, and another $12 million will be spent on ventilating city hall.

The funds cannot be used for street repairs or to replenish reserves, as those are not projects directly impacted by COVID-19.
