Driver dies after colliding with parked vehicle

The driver of a tractor-trailer died after colliding with a parked tractor-trailer near Dryden on Sunday, Nov. 28.
Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release issued Dec. 1 that the crash happened at about 6 a.m. on Nov. 28 on Highway 17 in Mutrie Township, west of Dryden. The OPP says a tractor-trailer unit was eastbound when it collided with another tractor-trailer that was parked on the eastbound shoulder.
The driver of the eastbound unit, 31-year-old Alexei Plevak of Woodstock, ON, died at the scene of the crash.
The driver and a passenger in the parked vehicle were not injured.
The highway was closed for about nine hours for a traffic investigation.
