Deer River woman seriously injured in crash

A 69-year-old Deer River woman was seriously injured in a Friday morning crash on Highway 2 west of Cohasset.
The Minnesota State Patrol says shortly after 9:00 Friday morning, a 2014 Dodge Caravan was driving eastbound on Highway 2 turning north onto Itasca County Road 88 when it was struck by a westbound 2016 Freightliner Semi.
The Deer River woman was a passenger in the Dodge Caravan, and was brought to a Duluth hospital with life threatening injuries.
The patrol says it isn’t known whether she was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, as well as the driver of the Freightliner Semi were not seriously injured in the crash.
Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash.
