DECC will become COVID test-to-treat site

Next week, the COVID testing site at the DECC will become a "test-to-treat" site.

According to the Governor’s Office, that means if people test positive and are determined to be high-risk, they can immediately receive a prescription for medication.

"Antiviral treatments are a critical piece of our fight against COVID-19 and new community test to treat sites will ensure those treatments are more accessible and available statewide," Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm said.

A clinician on site will be able to give a prescription for Paxlovid, which is free. The testing is also offered at no cost.

The DECC site will make the transition June 14.
