CSS men, UWS women win basketball border battles

On Wednesday the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) men’s and University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball teams took home victories in their respective border battles held at CSS.

The CSS men held off UWS 69-60 to earn their first win over the Yellowjackets since the 2018-2019 season. The Saints now trail the all-time series 20-36. Esko native Quinn Fischer led the Saints with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while UWS was led by J’Vaun Walker with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile the UWS women downed CSS 71-45 notching their 18th straight win over the Saints and improving to 36-25 in the all-time series. UWS’ Sam Parendo of Proctor led the night with 14 points while Megan Hurley led the Saints with 13 points.
