To celebrate National Recovery Month, the second annual Concert for Recovery is returning to the DECC on September 10, with seven hours of music from a variety of bands.

Last year’s concert drew hundreds of people while celebrating those in recovery, as well as those working to overcome mental-health issues. Organized by the Duluth Bethel, the City of Duluth, the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office and the DECC, they have plans to make the event annual.

The concert will take place along Harbor Drive on the east side of the DECC, facing the Aerial Lift Bridge. The City will close Harbor Drive all day.

"This was a highlight in our community last year," Duluth Bethel Executive Director Dennis Cummings said. "We celebrated recovery to help people and spread the word that we have great recovery and support here. But, of course, the biggest strength comes from those who are in recovery and working to better their lives."

Businesses, nonprofits and individuals interested in sponsoring the Concert for Recovery, along with bands interested in playing and vendors interested in providing food, should contact Rob Karwath at 218-343-9418 or rob@aimclear.com.

Advance tickets cost $15 and are available at duluthbethel.org, eventbrite.com and at the Bethel offices, 23 Mesaba Ave. Additional ticket outlets will be announced at duluthbethel.org and on Bethel social media.

Gates will open at 2:00pm September 10, and bands will play from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. All funds raised beyond expenses will support substance abuse and mental health services.
