Dave Benson has been appointed interim executive director at Community Action Duluth. Thursday was his third day on the job.

"I’m pleased to be here. It’s a great organization. I really support the mission of reducing poverty in Duluth. It’s a bigger issue than a lot of people realize. I’m here to help however I can," he said.

The organization is committed to eliminating barriers to health, home ownership, transportation, food access, education and employment.

He‘ll remain in the role while the CAD Board of Directors searches for a permanent director.

Benson has experience serving as the executive director of the Damiano Center, interim executive director at the Lake Superior Zoo, and significant board experience.

The Board is also seeking more people to serve on the Board. But they say that programs will continue without pause.
