Child killed after accidental shooting

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says a young child has died after she was accidentally shot by another child.
Sheriff Tom Burch says deputies arrived to the home in Bena at 3:54am Friday morning. Deputies on scene reported a three-year-old girl had been accidentally shot by another child in the home, a five-year-old boy.
The girl was taken to Deer River Hospital. Lifesaving efforts were performed, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An autopsy is pending as the investigation continues.
