Chester Bowl receives a $25,000 donation

Down at Chester Bowl the program received a generous donation to keep the ski hill moving towards the future.

Jim Denney from The Lions Club says, "it’s a testimony to everyone who’s been impacted by the outdoor events that go on here in Chester Bowl year round."

Chester Bowl Director Dave Schaeffer met with members of both The Lions Club and Bernick’s Family Foundation who gave Chester Bowl a 25,000 dollar donation.

Schaeffer says, "We could not exist without the support from the community. The generosity that comes in things like volunteer time that comes with families being involved and also comes in financial support. And we are so grateful to the Bernick’s Family Foundation making a 25,000 dollar donation to Chester Bowl.”

And it wouldn’t be Chester Bowl without the amazing help of hard working volunteers.

"We have over 5,000 hours of volunteer time every winter tracked here at Chester Bowl whether that’s a board members, people helping out with race day, those in our concession stand… so we really are a community run organization. The volunteers make things happen”, says Schaeffer.

And now with the donation the program can grow even more and evolve like it has in the past. The Director says, "So to have them make such a generous gift to us means so much. To be able to plan for the future knowing that we are in a financially stable place.
