Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and local businesses are preparing for the big weekend of Valentine’s Day sales.

Sarah Bjork, owner of Flora North says Valentine’s is always a big holiday for them and this year it will be even bigger.

She says, “This year, it does seem to be a lot busier than other years, being on a Monday. A lot of people are ordering this week, Saturday, and also Monday."

And now inflation is causing businesses to be as flexible as ever. Flora North has experienced it but Bjork says, “Some, a lot of our vases have gone up and flowers have gone up in price. [So much so] that we’ve kind of figured out how to how to adjust everything accordingly.

All the more reason to shop locally this Valentine’s Day. David Siebert, owner of Duluth Candy Co. says, “I think just supporting your local businesses, your friends, and your neighbors is really important. That kind of gives a sense of community as well and lets you know the good stuff and the quality products your local business people offer."
