Julie Lucas loves the Range. And she got to see quite a bit of it, from a bike, during her inaugural Ride Across the Range earlier this month.

It was a 128 mile trip from Ely to Grand Rapids. And she did it in two days.

"I’ve always wanted to do this, but it’s something I kept pushing off. After last year, when I had days when I couldn’t even go for a walk, I thought I may never get this chance again. I’m just going to do it," she told us.

She’s a breast cancer survivor, after being diagnosed at 41. "I want people to be aware, and get tested, and pay attention. And it’s not just women. Men can get breast cancer too," she said.

Lucas decided she was going to turn it into a fundraiser. So she asked people to donate to the Angel Fund, which supports cancer survivors. And she brought in almost $2800!

During the trip, she’s take short videos at different stops, thanking her supporters.

"It was the best feeling ever, and exhausting," she laughed. And she’s already planning ahead for next year.
