Bitter cold wind chills return through tonight

We started our day with dangerously cold wind chills that will continue into the night. WDIO Storm Track Weather Meteorologists say wind chills could approach -40° F Thursday morning up north.

The National Weather Service has updated the Watches and Warnings for the region. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until noon for the Minnesota portion of the Northland. Winds will be 15-20 mph from the northwest, with stronger gusts up to 35 mph.

In addition to making temperatures feel cooler, strong northwesterly winds will cause lake effect snow along the south shore on and off through the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
