President Joe Biden plans to visit Superior next Wednesday, the day after he delivers his State of the Union Speech.

The White House announced Thursday evening that the president and First Lady Jill Biden are expected to promote the infrastructure bill and its role in creating jobs. The exact location and time of the event have not been announced.

Biden also made a stop in Ohio last week to promote the infrastructure bill and the funding it will provide for the Great Lakes, which includes cleanup of the St. Louis River.

"We’re going to accelerate cleanup of sites across six states in the Great Lakes Basin from Duluth, Minnesota, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gary, Indiana, to Buffalo, New York, and everywhere in between," Biden said during the stop in Lorain, Ohio.

"Restoring the shoreline around the Detroit River in Michigan, the St. Louis River in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Grand Calumet River in Indiana, and so much more," he said.

Biden was last in the Northland during the 2020 campaign, making several stops in Duluth and Hermantown on a September afternoon.
