Auto repair giveaway for Christmas

Nine Twin Ports auto care centers are each giving away $1,000 in auto repairs to someone who has been nominated.

The following auto care centers are participating in the $9k Giveaway: Five Star Automotive in Superior, Tim’s Auto Care in Hermantown, ALLSTAR Service Center in Duluth, Hansen’s Auto Care in Duluth, Brad’s Auto Clinic in Duluth, Cloquet Service Center in Cloquet, Troy’s Service Center in Proctor, Moon’s Auto Svc and Exhaust in Superior and Melanson’s Service and Repair in Hermantown.

In years past, the auto shops would get cars donated, refurbish them, and then give them to a deserving family. Sometimes when a vehicle needs fixing, there’s a tough decision on whether to fix them or handle other important matters.

"They have to decide…I want to buy some Christmas presents, but the car is broken. So, what should I do? That conundrum is we want to help with that! We decided, what we do is we fix cars. So it would be better if we help you get your car fixed then you can spend our money on the cars and your money on the Christmas presents," said Brad Williams, owner of Brad’s Auto Clinic.

Nominations were accepted through Dec. 15. The winners will be drawn on Dec. 22.
