Alstead sworn into Duluth City Council

Hannah Alstead was sworn into the Duluth City Council Wednesday afternoon.
Alstead will be sitting in the 4th District seat previously held by the late Renee Van Nett.
“I’m doing this to step into a role that one of my really good friends paved the way for,” explained Alstead. “She literally paved the way for whoever was going to come into that seat to be able to stand up for the people of the 4th District that she cared so much about.”
Alstead was selected by the Duluth City Council on Monday from a group of two other applicants.
She’ll cast her first votes in the role at the upcoming council meeting on Monday.
