Abortion rights advocates demonstrate in Superior

A group of abortion rights activists demonstrated outside of the Douglas County District Court in Superior on Monday.

Event organizers Christina DeGraef and Brianna Frank said they were there to peacefully have their voices be heard, but they also expressed frustration that things got to this point.

“[Its] a bit ridiculous that we have to come out here and do this again 50 years later,” said Frank. “We just want to show Wisconsin that we will not be quiet about it, especially since we are currently undecided on what our abortion bans will be.”

Wisconsin’s Democratic attorney general filed a lawsuit last week that challenges the state’s 173-year-old abortion ban.
