Construction will start soon on a brand new regional facility in Duluth that will house the construction and waste management operations for Veit, a specialty contractor company. "The facility is going to allow them to continue their current operations but give them the ability to grow over the next twenty to thirty years, says Roush. The space and the footprint will potentially double our size. That is the goal!" Jesse Roush is the Senior Vice President of Operations at Veit.

The project construction is being completed by Kraus-Anderson and designed by RW Fern and Associates. The building will include new offices, conference spaces, and training rooms. The facility will also have vehicle and equipment storage and maintenance and wash bays for vehicles and other use.

Veit enterprise employs over eighty people in this region. Roush says with this new project, there is a chance to add more opportunities. "We are hoping to double that over the next time to twenty years.”

The facility comes with a five million dollar price tag and will be used in a variety of ways, Roush explains. "This will allow us to grow our project management teams, sales teams, and operational teams. Currently, right now, we are limited in space from our shops and our field operation capacities. This will allow us to bring some of that maintenance and logistics and fleet operations capability here, locally versus down in the metro where we currently have our corporate headquarters."

Veit mentioned that they will be up and ready, hopefully, by the end of November. A lot of planning dating back two years ago will hopefully help with the completion of the project. Dan Markham, the Director of Operations at Kraus-Anderson Construction for the Duluth office, shares how that planning came into play. “With this project and the supply chain issues that the construction industry is facing right now. We had to pre-order some materials, and because of that pre-planning, it will allow us to put the plan in place in a timing track even doing this challenging time.”

The new facility will sit on twelve thousand, eight hundred and eight square feet.
