22-year-old man arrested in connection with Iron Co. stabbing incident

Authorities in Iron County arrested a 22-year-old Texas man in connection with a stabbing incident on Saturday morning.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office says the 22-year-old man was in a van driven by a 68-year-old man that was heading eastbound on Highway 2.

The sheriff’s office says an argument broke out between the two, and that the 22-year-old man stabbed the driver in the neck with a knife.

The driver then stopped the van, and the suspect allegedly ran into the roads near County Trunk Highway D.

Authorities spotted the suspect walking south on 2nd Avenue in Hurley near the Poplar Street intersection.

He was taken into custody, and is facing possible charges of Felony Battery, Reckless Injury, and Injury by Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon.
