The Duluth Playhouse celebrated World Theater Day by announcing the plays and musicals scheduled for their 2024-2025 Main Stage and Underground seasons. This year also happens to be the Playhouse’s 110-year anniversary. In celebrating of the milestone, the Playhouse is presenting a lineup of shows that have never been produced at the Duluth Playhouse before. These shows include Jersey Boys, Cinderella, The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, The Light in the Piazza; Home, I’m Darling, and Waitress.

“We anticipate keeping the momentum going and building off that success with next season”, said Phillip Fazio, Producing Artistic Director of the Duluth Playhouse. “We’ve got two musicals that are going to be having their Twin Ports premiere and we’re also producing a play that’s never been done before in Minnesota. We super excited about that, and we think patrons will love it.”

According to Playhouse staff, while making the season lineup, the theatre considered a variety of factors, including artistic excellence, thematic diversity, and the capacity to inspire and challenge. They also curated input from audience members to help make their decisions on show selections. While doing this, their season survey achieved a record-breaking participation rate this year with over 1,800 engagements.

The Playhouse encourages people to join their membership program, saying members get significant discounts for shows. They offer a variety of membership backages and encourage those who are interested to call their box office.
