After a beautiful and seasonable weekend, cooler air starts moving into the region today. Highs range from 27 near International Falls to 40 in Hayward. Cloud cover increases and isolated snow showers are possible in the afternoon and evening. A stretch of below average temps begins tonight as lows range from teens along the South Shore to minus single digits near and north of the Iron Range. Areas up north may dip below zero again tomorrow night and even Wednesday night. This cool stretch translates to highs in low 20s to low 30s tomorrow, and widespread highs in the 20s on Wednesday.

Tuesday brings the chance for scattered snow showers that would bring light accumulation across the Northland, generally a dusting to an inch. A larger weather system may impact travel at the end of the week. As of this morning, snow chances arrive Thursday afternoon and evening with accumulation possible. Friday morning would provide a brief break, then a second round of precipitation reaches in from the south Friday afternoon and overnight. There is still some disagreement in precipitation type and storm track.
