[anvplayer video=”5168065″ station=”998130″]

The wintry mix that started out this morning will transition to all snow starting this afternoon. A band of wet heavy snow is expected along with gusty winds as the we head into the evening. We may get a brief break in snow later on this evening except for all but the Arrowhead and WI South Shore where heavy snow continues.

The greatest snowfall totals are most likely along the South Shore through Friday night. Strong north winds could cause localized whiteout conditions on the North and South Shore tonight and Friday morning. Regionally the snowfall amounts will break down like this. For north-central Minnesota, light to moderate snowfall is expected. The south shore will see the heaviest amounts of 8-12” with some localized amounts up to 18” possible. Most of Wisconsin will see light to moderate snow but start of as mostly rain. Travel the next 48 hours could become difficult. Follow the latest information at www.wdio.com
