Justin Liles: Warmer weather this weekend

Clouds will continue to increase and become overcast overnight. This will keep surface temperatures much warmer. It will still be breezy but winds will be out of the southwest ushering warmer air for the weekend. Temperatures will likely warm up through the weekend with a chance of light snow returning Sunday night through Tuesday morning. It doesn’t look like we will see much snow with this first wave but there might be enough to make the Monday morning and Tuesday morning commute slick.

We are also watching something interesting for the middle to end of next week. Models are starting to come into an agreement with a heavier snow event coming through late Wednesday through Friday. As of now, it looks to be a heavier swath of snow from the Twin Ports south toward the Twin Cities. However, if this system shifts a little north in the next week, we could be looking at much more across the Northland. Temperatures will be much colder by the end of next week too.
