St. Louis County woman dies in Wisconsin crash

St. Louis County woman dies in Wisconsin crash

A woman from St. Louis County, Minnesota, was killed in a crash in northwestern Wisconsin on Saturday.

Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch says 66-year-old Barbara Solem of Culver, Minn., was driving a motorcyle that crashed in the Town of Oakland. The crash happened on Wisconsin Highway 35 at Hayden Lake Road, which is between Webster and Danbury.

According to the sheriff's office, Solem was headed northbound on Highway 35 and struck the back of a pickup that was stopped on the highway while it waited for another vehicle to turn left.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Solem was pronounced dead a the scene of the crash.

North Ambulance, the Webster Fire Department, Burnett County Highway Department, and the Burnett County Medical Examiner's Office assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
