The Spooner Rodeo is now among the many major events that won't happen this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers announced Wednesday that the 67th Annual Heart of the North Spooner Rodeo is being postponed until July 8-10, 2021.  The decision was made by the committee that runs the event.

"This decision was not taken lightly as it has a huge impact on our community, businesses, rodeo personnel, contestants, fans, and many others. To ensure the safety of all and make sure the rodeo remains viable in future years," the rodeo said in a statement posted on its website.

Tickets that had already been sold for the 2020 event will be honored for 2021, with tickets automatically sent or placed at will call based on the 2020 order before 2021 tickets go on sale to the public.  People with questions or concerns should email at SpoonerRodeo@gmail.com or leave a message at the ticket office, 800-367-3306.

Details on ticket sales for 2021 have not yet been announced.
