There was a record turnout for the South Shore Lions Club’s 38th Annual Father’s Day Fishing Tournament over the weekend.

In total there were 121 registered fisherman and many more accompanying children.

Michael Skaw won first place at the tournament with a 13 pound, 12 ounce lake trout.

Through a coinciding raffle, the event raised more than $6,000.

Colleen O’Shaughnessy, chairperson for the event, said the Lions Club was able to put $10,000 back into the community last year, through their multiple fundraising events, which went to things like scholarships and medical equipment.
