Sawyer County man dies in crash

A Couderay man is dead after a crash in Sawyer County over the weekend.

The crash involving a pickup truck happened at 2:26 a.m. Sunday on County Highway NN in Couderay. Sheriff Doug Mrotek says initial indications are that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a driveway and came to rest in a wooded area.

The driver, 47-year-old Douglas B. Baker, died as a result of the crash. There were no passengers in the truck.

The Sawyer County Sheriff's and Coroner's offices are investigating the crash.

Sawyer County EMS, the Wisconsin DNR, and the LCO, Couderay and Bass Lake Fire Departments also responded to the scene.
