Two children were killed in a early Saturday morning house fire in Minong Township.

Minong Area Fire Department Chief Jay Barrett says crews responded to the house located at 6901 Semrad Drive at approximately 4:45 Saturday morning.

He said the initial report was that the house was on fire and two people were still inside. He reported the home was engulfed in flames by the time crews got there.

Barrett says the children, ages 10 and 13, died in the fire.

"Our hearts go out to the family and community," a press release said.

The house is considered a total loss, Barrett said. The cause is under investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
