Moores on Main, an Ashland business, won a $10,000 makeover in a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation contest.

The Ashland Chamber of Commerce surprised them with the news Thursday morning.

It's a second-generation retail store, owned by Steve and Wendy Moore.

Moores on Main entered the contest after loss of revenue from closing during the pandemic and flood damage in January.

When they were named as a finalist, Steve Moore said they would use the money on new flooring, fixtures and lighting.

A team from WEDC and Retailworks, an interior design firm, will work with the Moores to come up with a new look. They say the changes will happen during a 48-hour makeover event later this spring.
