It's the 37th annual running of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. For 300 miles, teams head up the North Shore for this premiere event, which is one of the longest sled dog marathon in the lower 48 states.

WDIO News had a crew along the route bringing us the sights and sounds of the race with stories, videos and pictures.  Visit the WDIO John Beargrease web page for full coverage.

With the coronavirus pandemic, and limited snowfall, this race was in question. However officials were able to pull together a plan and the race began on Sunday morning, January 31.  Spectators were not able to attend the start or finish, due to health protocols, but WDIO was was there throughout the race.
