The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for 20 counties in Minnesota.

The watch goes through 1 a.m. Thursday. This is in anticipation of a severe weather system that is expected to hit late Wednesday through Thursday morning.

The counties include:  AITKIN, BECKER, BELTRAMI, CASS, CLAY, CLEARWATER, CROW WING, GRANT, HUBBARD, ITASCA, KOOCHICHING, LAKE OF THE WOODS, MAHNOMEN, NORMAN, OTTER TAIL, PENNINGTON, POLK, RED LAKE, WADENA and WILKIN.
