Cloudy skies may have hampered the viewing of the solar eclipse for much of the Northland, but they did not dampen the excitement. Eyewitness News was LIVE from a number of different locations hoping to catch a glimpse of this celestial event.
Meteorologist Dan Romano hopped in a car with photojournalist, Clayton Zervas and headed south to St, Joseph, Missouri. This town of approximately 76,000 people was in the path of the total eclipse. Clouds and drizzle tested their patience but for those who stuck around it was worth it.
Chief Meteorologist Justin Liles headed south in Wisconsin, trying to find a break in the clouds. He and photojournalist Carl Sauer stopped south of Hayward and were treated to a fantastic view. We also had crews along Skyline and in Canal Park in Duluth.
