Lea Zmurko: Sun is up, but temps drop down

July 6: A cooler but sunny day!

Finally, the humidity will break, and cooler conditions will be widespread through the day, seasonable temps will be sticking around for the upcoming week.

Looking at Sunday, the cooler conditions will be a noticeable switch for Northland. A passing cold front will leave the area in the low to mid 70s with dry skies and some partial cloud coverage. Temperatures for the upcoming week will steer into seasonable territory as a zonal flow in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere sets a comfortable pattern.

There is still the possibility for some short waves to be embedded within bringing in some instability and storm potential on Monday night into Tuesday morning but better chances for any stronger thunderstorms will be for later in the week. Thursday and Friday look to be wet and stormy.
