Starting Thursday morning with some chilly air as the northwest winds continue to blow. Wind chills dip to thirty below across the northern tier of Minnesota and highs this afternoon will stay in the single digits across the region.

The sunshine will come out midday as skies remain clear due to the high-pressure settling overhead. Clouds will still collect along the South Shore as the warm lake will encourage cloud formation along with lake effect snow. Snow will continue to accumulate through today for the northeastern portions of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Iron County due to the rate of potential snow accumulation through the mid-morning.

 Temperatures will continue to rise from the single digits to near normal over the weekend. With the elevated air temps, the chance for light snow also will increase as another clipper crosses the Borderlands Friday afternoon and brings snow across the region through Saturday morning. Some light isolated flurries will linger behind as we wrap up the weekend with an additional 1-2 inches of sow.
