Justin Liles: Two big impact snows over the next 7 days
Our focus is now shifting to a couple rounds of snow from late Wednesday and through the weekend. Most of the Northland will see about 3-6” of snow now. There could be some localized heavier amounts up to 7” along the higher terrain of Northshore and possible near the Iron Range. Wednesday night into Thursday will be the worst of the upcoming snow. Strong winds off the lake that may exceed 50 mph will create poor travel and lower visibilities Thursday morning. Travel all over Thursday morning will not be the best. As a result, there is a Winter Weather Advisory that has been issued for parts of the Northland until 6am Thursday.

Temperatures will warm by the weekend with another chance of light snow Saturday. We won’t warm up much, but the second round of snow will arrive early Saturday morning and lasts through the day. Travel will be the worst during the afternoon and evening hours. Winds won’t be nearly as gusty as Thursday.
