But have you ever wanted to experience the concerts from on the water? The Duluth Experience hosts a kayaking tour specifically for the concerts where guests can take in the sights and sounds from on Lake Superior.

"They get the VIP treatment, where we take care of everything," said Co-Found and CEO of the Duluth Experience Dave Grandmaison. "We get them here, we bring all the gear, we get them set up on the kayaks, and we guide them along the way," he added.

The three hour tour is designed for anyone at any experience level. It starts by spending time paddling up the North Shore, checking out the rugged coastline and learning about the natural history of the Duluth shore. Then, the tour will make its way back to Glensheen and ultimately end up back at the pier where guests can pull up as close as they want and enjoy their front row seats to the concert.

"It's just a really unique way to see a music concert," said Grandmaison.

Kayaks aren't the only watercraft taking in the concerts from the water. Everything from sailboats, canoes, stand-up paddlers, and even inner tubes have made their way to the front of the pier.

"We've been planning it for the last month and a half," said Andrew Weisz who was with his friend Garrett Chick. "We found the tubes, got the paddle, and started like a mile back and paddled our way here," he explained about their Wednesday adventure to the Concerts on the Pier.

They said it was something they had been wanted to check off their Duluth summer bucket list.

"I feel like it's a rock concert," added Weisz. "You get the front row seats there's nobody around, so it's like you're watching a concert by yourself."
