The little kid inside all of us has dreamed of flying like a superhero. Strapping into a flyboard you get that 'up up and away' feeling, taking off of the water and hovering over it up to 30 feet high.

"You're actually strapped to a device which has a big heavy hose to it, so you feel like you're Houdini going into the water in the abyss," said HydroFlight Lake Life owner Jeremy Walker.

Walker lives to defy gravity as a pilot and during the summer he encourages others to experience hydro-flight. He added that he's taught water sports enthusiasts ranging from 9 to 90 years old.

"The Flyboard is very universal and diverse. Most people get up within the first five to eight minutes," added Walker.

Those visiting the Devil Track Lake at the Skyport Lodge in Grand Marais could test out the Flyboard, hoverboard, and jet pack over the weekend.

"The hard part was just finding my zen- finding my ground and just being relaxed," said Skyport Lodge Owner Rachelle Christensen who tested out the Flyboard the on Saturday. "Being one with the board which sounds silly, but it's true."

Christensen said one of her goals at the resort is to embrace the lake life by bringing more activities like water sports to outside of the downtown area.

"There's so much that this lake has to offer. It's a recreational lake among the Boundary Waters, so we feel like it's a good starting place to start your adventure whether it's into the wilderness or downtown Grand Marais," said Christensen.
