Lake Superior Warriors receive check for Hockey Day Cloquet contributions
The Lake Superior Warriors, a veterans-based hockey team was given a $1,000 check for their efforts to make Hockey Day Cloquet a success.
The ceremony was held at Veterans Park, the same site as Hockey Day Cloquet. The team helped clean up the park, set up the rink, and maintain it throughout.
They also kicked off Hockey Day Cloquet with a game against their Iron Range counterparts, the Iron Range Warriors.
Nate Knutson, the Hockey Day event coordinator, is grateful for all they’ve done.
“They opened up the Hockey Day events with the game against the Iron Range Warriors. And then fast forwarding to today on a great day, Memorial Day, honoring these folks that have served and continue to serve a purpose in the hockey community, bringing folks back from service and enjoying the game of hockey,” said Knutson.
The Warriors also received a jersey signed by everyone that participated.
