Expansion of WI DHS free COVID testing program

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services launched the “Say Yes! COVID Test,” a program that offers Wisconsin households the ability to order two free at-home COVID test kits per month. Each household can place an online order starting the first of each month. Each COVID testing kit included five rapid antigen tests allowing individuals to self-test in the comfort and safety of their homes.

Deb Standridge, Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, said, “Ordering test kits through the website is quick, easy, and free for any Wisconsin household, and you do not need health insurance to place an order.”

The goal of the campaign is to prevent the continued spread of COVID and to maintain the health of the community. Standridge added, “It’s important that we continue to provide equitable access to COVID-19 testing to stop the spread of this disease.”

According to the WI-DHS Website, if you test positive at home, stay home for at least five full days, separate yourself from others, and notify your close contacts and consult with your healthcare professional. In addition, they recommend that if you test negative, to keep an eye on potential developing symptoms and re-testing.
