Wisconsin has recorded the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in two months, at 1,046 cases on Thursday, leading to new warnings from state health officials about the growing spread of more contagious variants.
During a Department of Health Services press call, however, Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk also relayed that big strides are being made in getting the state vaccinated.
"We have administered over 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in our state, 3,286,594 to be precise, to over two million people which means over a third of Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose,” she explained.
In Wisconsin, 22% of the population had completed the vaccine series.
