UWS and WITC partner together in transfer program

In Superior on Wednesday, two Wisconsin colleges announced their new partnership of an online university transfer degree program.

The University of Wisconsin Superior and the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College partnered in this associates to bachelor's degree program.  It will allow students to combine classes from either school toward their degree.

“We're very excited as we're trying to figure out ways to make access for students up in the north much easier and seamless,” said UWS Chancellor Renee Wachter. “We think this is a great step in that direction.”

The leaders of both schools said they are excited to partner up to expand education access to northwest Wisconsin.

“We didn't want to rebuild what UWS was already doing, so we talked to them about offering part of the programs and they thought it was a good idea too to help extend access to students in our area,” said WITC President John Will. “And so we developed this partnership as a result and we're excited to be admitting our first students this fall.”

This collaboration will allow students to earn either an associate of arts or an associate of science degree from WITC.
